Volunteer opportunities

Assessors – Interview prospective students to determine their goals, their reading level and the best plan for getting them a tutor.

Booth Workers - Individuals to staff booths for LVT at public events:  hand out balloons and brochures, answer questions about being a student or a tutor at LVT and about our mission.

Bulk Mailing Volunteers - Help put our bulk mailings together.

Community Ambassadors - Individuals who help spread the word within their social circles about what LVT does, who we are and the people whose lives are changed because of what they have learned. We are available to come and speak to your group, whether it is a civic organization, place of worship, business, social service agency, etc.

Computer Trainers - You don’t need to be a “geek” to have fun teaching our students computer basics like how to use a mouse, search the Internet, and use computer programs such as Word and Excel.

Data Entry Specialists - Use your attention to detail and database skills to help us manage information on our students and tutors.

Office Assistants - Work at the front desk, answering phones, photocopying, putting packets together. Special need  on Saturdays.

Table Captains - For our Annual November Fundraising Breakfast, these individuals bring in friends and family to learn about Literacy Volunteers of Tucson and help with funding LVT now and into the future.

Tutors - Work directly with students in centers, one-on-one, in conversation groups or in the computer lab.

Yard Work Volunteers – Help keep the yard neat and tidy.

Volunteering with LVT is my way of giving back to the community. It helps me make an impact on someone else's life.
